Gaia Desktop Manager is a program that helps you manage your desktop wallpapers and screensavers.
Firstly, this tool has the ability to create a personal list of images as wallpapers; their sequence can be adjusted according to your preference. You can easily add new files to the list or delete those you don’t want anymore. A preview window lets you see the existing wallpapers. Likewise, you have the option to add special effects. What’s more, if the desktop system is configured to run on dual monitors, the same image can appear on each monitor, or one wide wallpaper can be displayed as a single picture on both of them. There is one more thing; you can add a calendar, adjustable in terms of size and placement.
Secondly, you have the option to organize the screensavers into thematic lists. Their occurrence can be at random or can respect a given sequence. There are situations when you don’t want the screensaver to block your view (for instance when watching a movie). To prevent an inopportune appearance, you can deactivate a screensaver on the spot, and activate it back easily.
To sum up, this application is both a screensaver and a wallpaper manager that allows you to customize your desktop the way you want. The program is easy to use, the interface is simple, but not very attractive. Since this is a beta version, the developer announces that more features are to come with the final release.
